Warning to all African heads of state

Warning to all African heads of state

Recent happenings around the world point to the fact that the world is not safe and we are gradually inching towards a global war. You can call it World War III. In fact some analysts even suggest that the World War III has already begun. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is raging on for about two years now, recently, Russia bombed Azerbaijan and just this week the same Russia bombed Romania. Israeli Palestinian war is raging on with no end insight and seems to be expanding, Israel has bombed Iran, Yemen, Syria, and Qatar without provocation and have effectively drawn them into their ongoing conflict with the Palestinians thereby enlarging the war.

America is now engaged with Venezuela in a sea war which may deteriorate into a land war. What is pivotal is the ongoing economic war of tariff between America and the rest of the world which is cumulatively pushing America on a downward trajectory which might push the country to aggressively pursue military action in an attempt to redeem its hegemony which is gradually slipping away. This will likely throw the world into a turmoil of greater proportions and that is where the countries of Africa must tread cautiously by activating their non aligned policies to safeguard their populations and their little infrastructure.

If nothing at all, the happenings in Eurasia has taught us that any global war will not depend largely on boots on the ground but rather on technology which Africa does not have. Any global war is most likely going to be based on drones and missile technology as evidenced by the Iran - Israel twelve days war. None of the two warring factions ever sent troops on the ground but rather showed their strength through missiles, drones cyber attacks, and jet fighters all of which Africa is a nonentity.

The best way for Africa to protect her limited development and her population is to stay in her own corner and mind her own business while watching from the sidelines as a spectator watching a football match in which he supports neither side on the field. If a fool keeps his mouth shut in the face of provocation, he is certainly counted among the wise. We in Africa are not under any obligation to support any ongoing war being it military or economic. Our duty is to protect our people who are already marginalized in the world.
