President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo, along with 30 other distinguished individuals, as members of the Council of State.
Among the appointees is former Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, who will serve as Chairman of the Council.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Jubilee House in Accra on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. This event marks a significant moment in Ghana’s governance, as the newly appointed members are expected to provide expert guidance and strategic counsel to the President on key national issues.
