Martin Amidu, the former Special Prosecutor, has taken aim at Ghana's political elite, accusing them of deploying psychological operations, or "psyops," to sway public opinion and deflect attention away from grave violations of people' rights.

The anti-graft fighter described these strategies a betrayal of Ghanaian’s patience.

Mr. Amidu asserts that the recent events surrounding the invasion of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta's home and the attempts made in Parliament to minimize the incident are indicative of a larger trend of psychological manipulation by those in positions of authority.

He pointed out that some politicians used what he called "cheap sycophancy" to further their own political agendas rather than confronting the grave violation of citizens' right to privacy.

“Ghanaians cannot continue to be subjected to psychological operations by the political elite in the executive and the legislative branches of government to deflect citizens’ attention from profoundly serious infractions of the rights of citizens,” Mr. Amidu stated.

He further chastised Mahama Ayariga, the Majority Leader in Parliament, for apologizing on behalf of the National Security Coordinator without seeing to it that those behind the illegal raid on Ofori-Atta's home were held accountable.

“The unwarranted and Rambo-style invasion of the homes of law-abiding citizens followed by apologies in Parliament is not what John Dramani Mahama promised the electorate to earn its vote,” he added.

Martin Amidu urged President Mahama to take strong action to stop history from repeating again, citing the experience of the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills, whose home was invaded in 2002.

“The President needs to walk his talk by ensuring that all those involved in this despicable invasion are brought to trial before the ordinary courts in accordance with the due process of law. Ghana must reset forwards and not backwards to yesteryears,” he stressed.

Wisdom from Amidu. This's what we need from the elders in our society not balderdash from elders like the infantile Joel Savage, the refugee domiciled in Belgium.
