Former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has opened up about the profound damages of the fallout from Anas Aremeyaw Anas' Number 12 exposé, which exposed alleged corruption within Ghanaian football.

Reflecting on the matter, Nyantakyi revealed how the exposé turned him into an outcast, with close friends distancing themselves from him.

He described the experience as a harsh lesson in understanding human relationships.

“I believe there was more to it. Men and women who followed the issue. That time, I became a public enemy, and people didn’t want to associate with me.

“It was a difficult time that taught me people often connect with you based on their interests. When there’s nothing for them to gain, they move away,” he shared.

Nyantakyi stated that the experience made him more resilient, adding that he has since developed a thick skin for life’s challenges.

To him, nothing shocks him anymore. He drew parallels between his experience and comments made by President John Dramani Mahama, who recently remarked on the fickle loyalty of those who surrounded him during his time in power but abandoned him after his 2016 electoral loss.

The Number 12 exposé, which aired in 2018, led to Nyantakyi’s resignation from the GFA and marked a turning point in his public and professional life.
