The Jasikan Diocesan Youth Council (JADYC) has condemned the violent attack on the Kpassa Catholic priests at Nkwanta.
The attack occurred on Wednesday, December 11.
In a press release, Jasikan Diocesan Youth Council described the attack as senseless and unacceptable.
“This senseless act of brutality is unacceptable and deserves swift condemnation from all quarters,” JADYC said in its release signed by its Secretary Solomon Kumah.
In the release, JADYC said the Catholic Church has always been a beacon of peace, love, and compassion, and it is disturbing to see its clergy being targeted in this manner.
The Council has called on the authorities to take immediate action to bring the perpetrators to book and ensure the safety and security of all citizens, particularly the clergy.
Meanwhile, the Council is urging all parties involved to exercise restraint and allow the law to take its course.
“JADYC also appeals to the public to remain calm and not take the law into their own hands,” the release added.

CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF JASIKAN
DIOCESAN YOUTH COUNCIL (JADYC)
PRESS RELEASE ON THE ATTACK OF CATHOLIC PRIESTS AT NKWANTA
11/12/2024
The Jasikan Diocesan Youth Council (JADYC) strongly condemns the violent attack on the Kpassa Catholic priests at Nkwanta today, December 11, 2024. This senseless act of brutality is unacceptable and deserves swift condemnation from all quarters.
The Catholic Church has always been a beacon of peace, love, and compassion, and it is disturbing to see its clergy being targeted in this manner. We call on the authorities to take immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety and security of all citizens, particularly the clergy.
As the National Peace Council in Ghana has previously done, JADYC urges all parties involved to exercise restraint and allow the law to take its course. JADYC also appeals to the public to remain calm and not take the law into their own hands.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire Catholic community in Ghana. May God bring healing, comfort, and peace to all those affected.
