You want the truth; I will hand it to you naked

Once we had firm hope in a salvation we clinged firmly to, and it was that promised by Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo. We saw in him a reformer, a determined leader who will strengthen our institutions and institute policies that will drive economic prosperity. Admittedly his government has chalked some success in some of these areas, but not in the war against corruption.

Fast forward, 8 years later and our hopes are dashed. I am certainly one of those people. But I admit that the ages have taught me a lot that I did not know back in 2016. As I reflect I have come to the understanding that eliminating corruption is not as simple as promising to fight it, especially in a political environment like ours, where corruption is entrenched in institutions including those that are designed to investigate them.

I am not quite convinced that Bawumia will do us any good in the fight against corruption, because of his role in this Government. In the case of John Dramani Mahama, I am certain in my mind that he is obviously not our best pick. Both major political parties seem to offer little difference on key issues like corruption.

We need a face that is new and never been tested, untainted by the scandals that has plagued this country for decades. It is for this reason many have developed a liking for The New Force. Unfortunately a win for such a candidate is impossible in a so called multi-party democracy like ours.

I am not certain in my mind what exactly to prescribe for our situation, but I do know that when it comes to the fight against corruption neither NPP nor NDC can give Ghanaians what they desire.

As always, we go to the polls to choose the lesser of 2 evils. But there is another alternative, a promising alternative, in the person of Nana Kwame (The New Force).
