Nana Akuffo Addo And Dr. Bawumia Government Is The Most Corrupt In The History Of Ghana…” Vote For Change”

The chief end of politics thrives on “Social Theory of Need” rooted and grounded on Social Contract [John Locke], a political theory that harmonizes the relationship between Civil Power [Government] and Civil Society [Citizens]. Thus, Social contract theory is a moral and political philosophy that suggests that society is based on an implicit or explicit agreement to follow a set of standards that define moral and political behaviour. The theory is often concerned with the legitimacy of the state's authority over the individual. So, Social Contract expresses that Civil Power must ensure the needs of society are met politically, socially, and economically. This is why it is the fundamental right of citizens to exercise their franchise to choose Leaders that will to lead them to economic prosperity and social justice. In doing so, it is right and abundant duty of every government to make its manifesto promises realistic to the people who in trust of these promises voted for the government to lead them.

Hence, through social contract when the people give their mandate, they must see the effect of the trust they repose in those they voted for to improve their sustainable livelihood development. Their economic livelihood must improve, they must experience social developments; right to education, health, affordable housing for shelter, boost in agriculture to ensure food security, sustainable energy affordable for domestic users especially those who live below the poverty line, access to water and massive infrastructure in the various sectors of the economy, education, energy, health etc and most of all industrialization to address unemployment by creating jobs for the people in the manufacturing sector that would boost export and increase in GDP growth and prudent economic management that averts profligate expenditure by the Executive and efficiency in fiscal consolidation of budget deficit for the economic freedom of citizens. The government also in the discharge of its mandate must protect the sanctity and integrity of State Institutions, democratic constitution that respect to rule of Law and citizens fundamental rights and civil liberties. All these attributes are grounded on Good Governance. All these democratic tenets have disappeared under the Nana Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia led government

So, when governments are elected into office “social theory of need” is invoked and the implication is that government have signed a social contract with the people to provide the needs of the people at the point of need not when the government thinks the people need Accordingly, Locke held that the Obligation to obey civil government under social contract was conditional upon the protection of natural rights of each person Including the right to private property. Sovereigns who violated these terms could be justifiably overthrown. By this, John Locke means that if elected government fails to deliver on its promises to the people to address the sustainable livelihood development of the people through Social Development Goals that will alleviate the people from abject and extreme poverty that government must be overthrown through democratic elections.

For this reason, Ghana is at a “Cross road” to save its ailing democracy and economic woes which has been corrupted by the Nana Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia led government for the past 8 years. Their leadership so far has been the worst ever in the history of Ghana’s political leadership. The Nana Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia led government have subject the Ghanaian people to abject poverty and in recent Afro barometer statistics, about 24.7% Ghanaians went a day without food. The NPP government has subjected Ghanaians to social repression, economic hardship, high cost of living, rising food inflation, high unemployment rate, depreciation of the Cedi, high interest rates, obnoxious taxes, frivolous expenditure by the government and most of all institutionalized corruption among the political elite and state institution. These economic indicators the NPP have chalked within the 8yrs of stewardship means they have failed the people and the need for Ghanaians to vote for change in the upcoming December 7 general elections to reset the country to its former glory.

Against these bad economic factors, the NPP government is fraught with many scandals which the government have refused to investigate. The PDS SCANDAL where an amount of over GHC 600M was collected and could not be accounted for, Aljazeera Gold scandal exposes involving the President, Akuffo Addo’s daughter’s ambulance spare parts SCANDAL involving $34m, the $2m sky train SCANDAL, The Pwualugu Dam SCANDAL involving $12m, Agyapa involving $15m, the National Cathedral SCANDAL involving 58 million dollars for useless but expensive hole on earth, SML SCANDAL the mother of all SCANDALS, Australia visa fraud, Ghana high commission in Oslo SCANDAL, the Galamsey Scandal exposed by Prof. Frimpong Boateng, the Former Minister of Environment, science and Technology Report which indicted the President and the Vice-President as being part of a cartel involved in Galamsey activities, the 500 missing excavators’ SCANDAL, Misappropriation of Covid-19 Funds SCANDAL, Sputnik vaccine SCANDAL, the Ministry of Education Math set SCANDAL involving the running mate of Dr. Bawumia, NAPO, over GHC68M was used to print past questions for SHS students, Cecilia Dapaah cash under bed SCANDAL involving millions of dollars and many more scandals exposed in the Auditor-General’s Report, the Bank of Ghana New Office complex Scandal involving $250m, the Achimota Forest and PPA scandals. So, since the President and the vice-President Dr. Bawumia have failed to fight corruption within the government gives enough conviction that the NPP government under Nana Akuffo Addo has been the most corrupt government since independence and a vote to retain them especially Dr. Bawumia as President and NAPO as Vice and Head of the Economic Management team could be a disaster and catastrophic. It will be an opportunity for the NPP government to escape the O.R.A.L accountability to loot more.

Political Leadership under the NPP government has been worst and has subjected many state institutions to a weakened state of disarray. They have governed with impunity and oppressive. The Politically exposed persons appointed to independent state institutions such as the Electoral Commission, the Supreme Court and other institutions of state is an affront to democratic principles accountability, transparency and integrity. Many State Institutions have been rendered dormant and lame dogs. The COCOBOD has recorded losses over the years, Produce buying company has collapsed, TOR has collapsed, for the first time in the history of Ghana Bank of Ghana was declared Bankrupt after printing currencies to the tune of 77 billion without parliamentary approval and the government going ahead to borrow GHC 42 billion from the BOG which has not been settled.

Dr. Bawumia is a failed Economist. All promises he made has fell on rocks. The journey from taxation to production has crushed. There is high interest rate ever; National debt stock has risen from GHC 120 BILLION in 2016 to GHC 767 Billion, Fuel from GHC 14 per gallon to GHC 70 per gallon, Cedi from 4ghc to 17ghc, Cement from 28ghc to 110ghc, unemployment rate from 8.4% to 14.8%, inflation keeping around 25% that has inflicted economic hardship on the people. From taxation to production has turned into state looting with many scandals within the government that has been swept under the carpet. Under their watch they have looted state resources, state lands, destroyed our water and forest reserves in search of Gold. The manufacturing sector has collapsed with more taxes than production, Dr. Bawumia has demonstrated over the years that he is not truthful and sincere when he promises so, he cannot be trusted for Ghanaians to entrust the Sovereignty of the state in his care. He went to the Light house Church and when he was given the Pulpit he said Cabinet has approved funds for the construction of concrete roads across the country. Today, the NPP government has never constructed even 1 km of concrete roads. The Tema motor way concrete road is being patched with Asphalt instead of concrete creating more damages on the road. On a lying spree, the promised people of Cape Coast the government would build airport and harbour for them only for the President to denounce this promise. So Bawumia is a liar. Even behind the pulpit he lied and he continues to lie even when he promised from taxation to production, what is the journey so far?

To conclude, statistics demonstrates that Nana Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia government is the most corrupt government ever in the history of the Republic of Ghana. Their stewardship shows that they came to steal kill, and destroy. Everything shows that they came to implement the Agyapa Document to loot the state and stifle socio-economic development of the Ghanaian people. The last Remnant of democracy, “virtue” has disappeared under their watch. Despotism has replaced Democracy; travesty of justice by the judiciary has endangered the Legal regime, the country is heading towards a wrong direction according to afro barometer report. The government of Nana Akuffo Addo has been corrupted by spirit of inequality, social injustice, extreme equality where it has placed the interest a few leaders above the general well being of citizens and have thrown the entire economy into an abyss having looted and plundered te state. In the light of this, Ghanaians have the opportunity to change the narrative through the December 7 ballot that will liberate Ghanaians from Economic hardship and abject poverty. This year’s election is about the Economy and Unemployment. Vote for change to reset the economy. Vote for John Mahama because he has demonstrated a trait of servant leadership as former President who is inspired by the desire to transform the economy through the 24 hours Economic Policy. Ghana will work again. Vote for the 2^nd independence of Ghana. God Bless our Homeland Ghana.
