President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed the establishment of an ad-hoc ministerial committee to engage stakeholders to assess the government's efforts in dealing with illegal mining in Ghana.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the Ministry of Information on Friday.
It stated, “On the instruction of the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, an ad-hoc Ministerial committee has been set up to engage all stakeholders to assess the government's efforts in dealing with illegal mining in Ghana.”
According to the release, the National Security Minister, Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, leads the five-member committee.
“Other members of the committee are the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Samuel A. Jinapor; the Minister for Defense; Mr Dominic Nitiwul; the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Mr Ignatius Bafour Awuah and the Minister for Information, Madam Fatimatu Abubakar,” it added.
