President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, August 13 received the Letters of Credence of, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Ghana, Tong Defa, at a brief ceremony that was held at the Jubilee House in Accra.
President Akufo-Addo upon receiving the letters congratulated Defa and impressed upon him to discharge his duties in a manner that strengthens the bilateral relations between Ghana and China.
He seized the opportunity to inform Defa about his participation in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) which is scheduled to be held in Beijing in September, 2024.
Tong Defa for his part thanked the President for receiving his Letters of Credence and expressed the willingness of the Government of China to strengthen relations with Ghana at both the multilateral and bilateral fronts.
Present at the ceremony was the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Senior Officials from the Presidency, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration as well as staff from the Embassy of China in Accra.
