Monday 17th June, 2024 has been declared as a public holiday by the President of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as part of the Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
In a statement signed by the Minister of Interior, it said “The general public is hereby informed that Sunday, 16th June, 2024 marks Eid-ul-Adha which is a statutory public holiday”.
The statement noted that the President by the executive instrument in accordance with section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act declares Monday as an additional public holiday.
It further urged Ghanaians to observe the day as such throughout the country.
The Northern Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Salam Adam has declared Sunday for the celebration of the Eid-ul-Adha, and that, the prayers would held at the Tamale Jubilee Park before 8:15 am.
