Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Kwame Prempeh, asserts that the implementation of the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (GHANEPS) will significantly enhance transparency in public procurement processes.

Mr. Prempeh noted that the successful implementation of GHANEPS is expected to reduce nepotism and corruption within state agencies.

Speaking on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM's afternoon political show 'Dwabrem' on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, he emphasized that GHANEPS will not only ensure transparency in all tendering operations but also promote uniformity in procedures and consistent application of international standards for the procurement of goods.

He highlighted that the move aims to foster competition and efficiency in procurement processes by leveraging Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

"The Authority seeks to ensure fairness, transparency, and non-discrimination in public procurement, thereby promoting a competitive local industry and increasing the confidence of our varied stakeholders in public procurement processes both domestically and internationally," he stated.

Mr. Prempeh also called on all companies and state agencies to collaborate with the PPA and familiarize themselves with the system to ensure effective cooperation.
