Iddrisu Mohammed Madugu, a young Muslim thinker and Imam had an opportunity to share his ideas with the Gaskia TV viewers on the perceived poverty situation in some Ghanaian Muslim communities and some ways to properly better the status quo.
Among many other things, he mentioned, is the need for Muslim communities to have a census database of all members of the communities, which should detail out their population, age groups, employment and unemployment statuses, types of business, small, medium and large scale the people do among several others.
He argued that until there is such statistical data, the communities will not be able to tell with certainty their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Their development agenda as a community will keep missing critical targets.
As a contemporary Islamic Thought enthusiast, his analysis was epistemologically integrated. Drawing from Islamic and Managerial perspectives to provide a holistic appreciation of the facts.
He was on the panel with Sheikh Ali Napari who also touched on many things including unity of purpose among Muslims, extravagance on the part of Muslims and more.
