Is Ghana not having her share of the punishment resulting from human insensitivity towards mother Earth?

Haven't every Ghanaian this year experienced the harsh weather conditions?

Haven't Ghanaians had a share of water drought this year? Wells are drying up.

But what do we still see?

1. still the cruel attitude towards our Forest.

2. Our refusal to stop destroying the land.

3. Our indiscriminate attitude towards our water bodies.

4. The release of fumes into the atmosphere.

5. Galamsey

6. It can go on and on and on ....

Humanity have been very cruel towards his own. We thought we were maltreating mother Earth only for us to realise that we were actually pinching our own body with the same poisonous arrow. What have we not done against nature? What pain have we not caused mother Earth? The pain we have brought upon the earth has affected us too. Indeed, the ball which we threw against the wall could not get stuck-up there but has landed in front of us.

Ghana as a country has had it feel of the result of this wickedness towards mother Earth. Archbishop Palmer Buckle, was right and for saw the future of Ghana when during one national programme, in his speech, outlined that the attitude of many Ghanaians towards our land areas will cause the country some few days ahead. He added by saying that Ghana today imports tomatoes from Baurkina Faso and will soon import water.

Are we not in the train traveling to Baurkina Faso to buy water? He was right when he added to the voice of the Holy Father, Pope Francis that the cry of the poor is the cry of the earth. That we should fight till justice is given. When they saw the future of the world today, we only see today as the future.

What man cares about is his immediate gratification. This sensitive part of us is what has cuased our doom. Everything is now based on desires than on reason. We have forgotten that we are rational beings too. We have allowed our sense of riches to control us. Remember, even animals which live in the forest, having that as their natural habitat, where they end a living, haven’t finished the forest on the basis of hunger. They learn to share the little they have in their natural home with us humans. They, care about ulwe humans but we the least. Yet, we only care about destroying our environment.

What is the way forward? We can do better. We can live in harmony with mother Earth. The Earth is not at war with us. We all have to stop this our cruel attitude towards mother Earth.

The campaign to save mother Earth will still go on till it gets into the ears of the last person.
