Allegations against Dr. Hafiz strange and outrageous—Group counter allegations
18.01.2021 LISTEN

A group known as the Progress Activists of the Upper West Region have described as strange and outrageous a series of allegations to the effect that Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih- the Upper West Reginal Minister was responsible for the unimpressive performance of the NPP in the Region in the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections of Ghana.

Speaking to the media in the wake of the allegations, Master Issah Adama Waahu and Mr. Suglo Nurideen wondered how the Regional Minister could singularly work against the fortunes of the NPP in the Region when all constituencies in the Region had constituency officers, Polling Station officers, and both constituencies and Regional campaign teams?

The Progressive Activists indicated that 'honest and genuine research should be conducted into the performance of the NPP in the Region and not unwarranted allegations against hard-working people'

According to the group, some Constituency and Regional Executives worked against some of the Parliamentary Candidates in the Region, some Parliamentary Candidates were also sabotaged by former MPs who were defeated during the primaries in the Region.

In the words of the group 'a very cheap way to account for the performance of NPP in the Upper West Region is to blame a hard-working Regional Minister rather than conduct a genuine research'

The Progressive Activists stated that Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih promoted peace and cohesion in the Region and also brought about tremendous development in various facets of the local economy in the Upper West Region and therefore called on the public to treat the allegations against Dr. Hafiz with disdain.

The Group further indicated that some new entrants to the NPP in the Region in recent years were behind the empty allegations making the rounds in the media and have vowed to expose them in subsequent statements.
