Dear Nana Ama,
I am a JHS graduate and want to pursue a career in acting. My friends say that there is no acting school in Ghana but I do not believe them. I'm however not sure where such a school can be located.
I would be very happy if you could provide me with more information on where such a school is located and the entry requirements.
Jenny, Kumasi.
Dear Jenny,
I would encourage you to pursue your education to Senior High School (SHS) level and then upon completion, you can apply to the School of Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, Legon.
In the mean time, you can look for and join any of the amateur but hard-working drama groups in Kumasi. Some of them are affiliated to the Centre for National Culture and you can get information about them from the Director of the Centre in Kumasi.
