Ghanaian actor Mr. Beautiful has rejected allegations by veteran actress Helena Maame Adwoa Petreba Pieterson, popularly known as Adjoa Pee, that he took part of the money meant to support her medical bills.
Speaking to Bra Emma Studios, Mr. Beautiful said Adjoa Pee contacted him about her medical condition and informed him she needed GH¢2,000 to settle her hospital bills.
He explained that he subsequently approached the relevant authorities about her situation and was given GH¢2,000 to support her medical expenses.
According to Mr. Beautiful, he travelled from Accra to the hospital near Prampram, where Adjoa Pee had been admitted, and personally handed her the full GH¢2,000.
He therefore disputed the claim that he deducted money from the amount to cover transportation expenses, saying he had already been provided funds for fuel or transportation for the trip.
Mr. Beautiful said he had initially chosen not to respond to the allegations, despite Adjoa Pee allegedly raising the issue for some time. However, he said her continued public discussion of the matter compelled him to explain his side.
He also pointed to what he described as Adjoa Pee’s own confirmation that she received GH¢2,000 from him.
He questioned how he could have taken part of the money when, according to him, the full amount was handed over to her and the transaction was captured on video.
Mr. Beautiful further cited an earlier instance in which he said he was entrusted with GH¢27,000 to support the medical treatment of veteran musician Naa Amanua at the University of Ghana Medical Centre. He said he did not take any portion of that money.
He consequently questioned why he would deduct money from the GH¢2,000 intended for Adjoa Pee.
Adjoa Pee had previously alleged that President John Dramani Mahama gave Mr. Beautiful GH¢2,000 in 2022 to support her medical bills, but claimed that the actor took part of the money for transportation, leaving her with insufficient funds.
Mr. Beautiful has denied the allegation.
