Three people have been rushed to the Kumasi South Hospital after sustaining injuries during a stampede at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Delegates Conference held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Paramedics from the Ghana National Ambulance Service reportedly struggled to transport the injured due to the large crowd gathered at the conference grounds.
One of the victims is said to have suffered a fracture after sections of the crowd attempted to force their way through, prompting police to intensify crowd‑control measures.
Others who sustained minor injuries are receiving treatment at temporary medical centres set up at the venue.
