Appietus accuses Ofori Amponsah of hijacking Barosky’s Netflix deal share

Music producer Appietus has accused highlife musician Ofori Amponsah of failing to distribute money from a reported Netflix movie deal to artistes who contributed to the project.

His comments come amid public concern over musician Barosky, who was recently seen living on the streets in the United Kingdom and has expressed a desire to return to Ghana.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session with broadcaster Andy Dosty, Appietus alleged that a disagreement with Ofori Amponsah over the deal resulted in a serious fallout between them.

According to Appietus, Ofori Amponsah had promised to give part of the proceeds to Kofi Nti and Barosky but allegedly did not fulfil that commitment.

He said the deal involved a UK movie titled The Kitchen, which reportedly featured portions of the song Odo Nwom.

Appietus alleged that, as the producer of the song, he was entitled to 50 per cent of the proceeds but accepted a different arrangement after Ofori Amponsah indicated that some of the money would be shared with the other artistes.

He expressed disappointment over Barosky's current circumstances and disclosed that he had made calls to explore possible ways of assisting him to return to Ghana.

Appietus also appealed to the public to refrain from portraying Barosky negatively, arguing that his present struggles should not overshadow his contribution to Ghanaian music.

He described Barosky's situation as unfortunate and urged the public to support rather than condemn him.
