Calvin Kwadwo Fosu, the first son of the late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, has threatened that the family will take legal action against individuals spreading falsehoods and defamatory claims about them.

Speaking in a social media video after activities marking the first anniversary of Daddy Lumba's passing, Calvin said the family would no longer remain silent while their name was being tarnished.

“To those who have chosen to spread falsehoods or tarnish the family's name, let us be clear. Those actions will no longer go unanswered. A legal team has been instructed to deal with these matters through the appropriate channels,” he said.

Although he did not mention any specific person or incident, Calvin stressed that the family was prepared to pursue the matter through the legal process.

He also used the opportunity to thank Ghanaians and Daddy Lumba's fans for the love, prayers and support shown to the family over the past year.

“On behalf of all my family, I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for the incredible love, support and prayers you've shown us over the past year. The way you've continued to honour my father's legacy means more than words can ever express,” he said.

Calvin further expressed gratitude to everyone who has continued to celebrate Daddy Lumba's life and legacy, praying for God's blessings on all who have stood by the family.

Daddy Lumba's one-year anniversary was marked with a series of events attended by family, friends, colleagues and fans, who gathered to honour the enduring legacy of one of Ghana's greatest highlife musicians.
