“Mapem” hitmaker, Obaapa Christy disclosed in an interview with GH Page that things aren’t always the same as they appear on the surface.
The Gospel musician, in the interview with GH Page boss, Rashad shared that she started making money from the music industry not long ago, even though she had been in the industry for a very long time.
According to the musician, before the release of her tracks such as “Hyebr3 Sesafuor” just to mention a few, she was making nothing from her talent as a musician.
She revealed that, before those songs became hit songs, she was very famous and had become a household name, but was so broke that she depended on alms for survival.
“Things began to go well for me after the release of Hy3br3 Sesafuor. I started making money from that time forward. At first, I was very popular but broke. But it’s normal”, she shared.
Speaking about the old Godpel musicians, Obaapa said that “They even struggled more than us, I’m sure. But today, things have changed.”
According to Obaapa Christy, “At first, after doing the song, the producer would buy, so whatever money that came out of it was theirs. You understand?”
