The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Lydia Yaako Donkor, has sparked conversations online following her candid revelations about her favorite Ghanaian musicians.
Speaking in an interview with media personality Bola Ray on Starr FM, COP Donkor openly declared legendary highlife icon Amakye Dede as the greatest musician in Ghana.
According to her, Amakye Dede’s timeless music and impact on Ghana’s music industry place him above all others. Her statement reflects the deep admiration many Ghanaians, especially from older generations, have for the highlife legend whose career spans decades.
Despite her strong endorsement of Amakye Dede, the CID boss was quick to show love to the new generation of artistes. She expressed particular fondness for dancehall heavyweights Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, affectionately referring to them as “her sons.”
