A Ghanaian event promoter, Kelvin Osei Owusu, has taken to social media to publicly accuse highlife artiste Fameye and his management team of failing to pay him an agreed commission following a major show deal.
In a detailed Facebook post, Kelvin Osei Owusu narrated how he secured a performance booking for Fameye, with the artiste’s team initially quoting a fee of GH₵100,000. According to him, after relaying the amount to the show investor, Fameye’s team later clarified that transportation costs were not included in the fee.
Kelvin explained that in an attempt to settle the matter, he engaged the team on transport arrangements. He was told that five members of Fameye’s team would be traveling and that he should handle flight bookings. Instead, he proposed adding GH₵10,000 to cover transport, but the team reportedly insisted on at least GH₵15,000.
Eventually, both parties agreed on a total package of GH₵120,000, comprising the GH₵100,000 performance fee and GH₵20,000 for transportation. Out of the GH₵20,000 transport allocation, Kelvin claims GH₵15,000 was meant for the team while GH₵5,000 was to be his personal commission.
However, the promoter alleges that despite the agreement and payments being made—including a partial upfront payment and final settlement sent to Fameye’s mobile money account, his GH₵5,000 share was never paid.
Kelvin further stated that even though Fameye personally received the payment alerts, his share was not forwarded to him. He added that Fameye’s DJ reportedly assured another DJ, identified as DJ Stunt, that the issue would be resolved and that Kelvin should expect his money after final payment.
According to him, Fameye’s manager, known as “Major,” later asked him to attend the event venue to receive his money. However, Kelvin said he was unable to attend because he had another engagement in Kumasi.
The event in question took place on December 26, 2025, yet as of March 2026, the promoter claims he has still not received his GH₵5,000 commission despite multiple calls and messages to the artiste.
Expressing his disappointment, Kelvin questioned why an artiste paid over GH₵115,000 would withhold a relatively small agreed commission, stating that such actions discourage promoters from recommending artistes for future deals.
