Ghanaian highlife sensation, Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr, widely known as Akwaboah Jnr, has taken a heartfelt decision to cancel his much-anticipated annual Shades of Love concert, traditionally held every February 14 to celebrate Valentine's Day.
In a poignant statement, the musician expressed his deep regret at having to call off this year's show. "For the past 6 years, Valentine's Day has become synonymous with Akwaboah's Shades of Love concert. This is why it pains me to say we will not be able to have our concert this year," he stated.
The Shades of Love concert has become a cherished tradition for lovers across Ghana, drawing crowds from far and wide to revel in Akwaboah's soulful melodies and romantic tunes. Its cancellation marks a significant departure from the norm, leaving many fans disappointed.
Explaining his decision, Akwaboah emphasized his commitment to delivering top-notch performances to his fans. "When it became evident that we could not deliver what we have come to expect at the Shades of Love concert, the choice was obvious. It is always my wish to give you the best experience because you deserve the best," he stated.
Despite the setback, Akwaboah reassured his loyal supporters that there are still exciting prospects on the horizon. "He will provide updates on concerts and tours planned for the rest of the year. That notwithstanding, I have some pleasant surprises for you this Valentine," he added.
