Stevo Atambire: The two-string guitar artist projecting Ghana Culture with sold-out concerts in Europe

Born Stephen Atambire Ayuungo in Namoo, a small border town in the Upper East region of Ghana, Stevo has been noted for his tireless efforts in promoting Ghanaian culture in European countries by performing for over 10,000 audiences alongside the Alostmen Band with his two-string guitar made of gourd and goatskin - "Kologo".

Stevo started playing music at an early age when he learned to play the "Kologo" - a traditional guitar with his late father - and has since grown up playing it to many at concerts, parties, funerals etc

Stevo's style of playing and singing is associate with nomadic cultures such as the Tuareg. His powerful, ethereal vocals and tense harp "Kologo" plunge listeners into deep thought, an ecstatic or energetic dance. It sounds both melodic and percussion.

Like musical instruments, the style of music is call "Kologo"; Energetic and dramatic country music from northern Ghana, he performs as a solo artist and with his band Alostmen

He earns credits for a number of evergreen albums and singles that are making waves in Ghana and Europe , and has worked with some of the best producers and artists in Ghana and beyond, including celebrated musician WanLov Kubolor , who chose to be part of this group (Alostmen band).

The "Kologo" Artist, as noted, sings in Gurene (Frafra), a Ghanaian language spoken by a portion of the population of the Upper East with a mixture of English, Twi and Hausa. After making a name for himself in the Ghanaian entertainment industry, he made his European debut with King Ayisoba and since then has performed at major festivals in Europe and most countries abroad

He recently toured in the Netherlands, Lille (France) performing at Attacafa, scène Universelle nomads, also in Belgium, Hungary and many other places attracting huge crowds - soldout concerts.

In an interview after his recent tour, Stevo indicated that the time has come for the Ghana entertainment industry to recover and accept his craft to elevate the industry to attract investors outside the country.
