Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has prayed for lasting peace, national unity and an end to insecurity in Nigeria during a spiritual visit to Makkah in Saudi Arabia.
Tinubu performed the Islamic pilgrimage, known as Umrah, early Friday, October 30, at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram.
The Nigerian leader used the spiritual exercise to seek Allah's continued guidance and protection for Nigeria and its citizens.
He also prayed for wisdom for the country's leaders and stronger bonds of brotherhood among Nigerians.
Speaking to journalists after the exercise, President Tinubu said the pilgrimage was significant to his commitment to Nigeria and the will of Allah.
"I believe this Umrah is very significant for the love of our people, commitment to the job and our country, Nigeria," he said as quoted in a statement issued on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.Tinubu prays for end to insecurity, lasting peace in Nigeria during Umrah
