Veteran broadcaster Tommy Annan Forson has expressed that the hosting of live radio shows in Ghana has seen a great deal of transformation over the years.

According to him, the recent day radio space allows its personalities to say whatever they want as long as it makes some sense to them.

In an interview with Naa Ashokor on Tuesday, Uncle Tommy as he is affectionately called stated that there were things on-air personalities were not allowed to say or do back in the days.

There were things that you were not allowed to say, like making sure you don’t crack a joke on air, no matter what happens you don’t laugh on air,” he narrated.

The veteran added that the rigid system changed when he decided to be different from other broadcasters during his era.

“I told my then boss I want to be Tommy Annan Forson. I want to make a difference; I want to be someone who stands out from that straitjacket kind of thing.”
