Nominations for the 2015 edition of the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) are out and only two Ghanaian actresses made the list.
They include actress Joselyn Dumas and new entrant Ama Ampofo.
However, other Ghanaian movie productions like Silver Rain, Akorkoli and Iyore by Nigeria-born Ghanaian movie director Frank Rajah also made the list, saving Ghana from what would have been a disgrace.
Nominees were announced in Los Angeles, USA Saturday night. It was attended by Lydia Forson, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Chioma Chukwuka and Jimmy Jean-Louis among others.
Joselyn received her second AMAA nomination in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in the movie, Silver Rain, which is also competing in the AMAA Achievement in Make-Up category.
Ghanaian animation Akorkoli will battle The Throne (Nigeria), Alternative to Corporal Punishment (Namibia), and The Legacies of Rubbies (Nigeria) for the AMAA 2015 Award for Best Animation.
Actress Ama Ampofo's role in Devil in a Detail also earned her nomination in the AMAA 2015 Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role category.
