After witnessing a very successful movie premier at the National Theater a fortnight ago titled 'The Number 1 Fun' produced by Juliet Ibrahim, Miss Joyce blessing, executive producer of Hau Of Kadewe Films, is set to premier her 3rd movie titled 'The Masked' on 29th November which is themed on the deadly disease, HIV/Aids, and its effects in Africa.
Nkuli (The Masked) is one of the few Ghanaian movies to tackle HIV/Aids as its theme. Unconfirmed report available to Ghanasuperstars.com has it that the Ghana AIDS Commission is one of the sponsors of the film.
The movie was directed by Phil Bernard. Hau of Kadewe Films are the producers of the hilarious movie 'Wanna Be' which starred; Nana Akua Addo , James Gardiner, Prince David Osei, Bismark Odoi and others.
Nkuli (The Masked) tells the story of a young Nkuli (played by Nana Akua Addo) and her two siblings, Kwame (played by James Gardner) and Gye Nyame (played by Lisa Asor Awuku), who had to face the harsh realities of life after the untimely death of their parents.
They found themselves in the care of a wicked aunt (played by Paulina Oduro) who ushered Nkuli into prostitution, as a means of generating income for the family's upkeep. Nkuli got infected with the HIV virus and the rest of the story is what movie fans should anticipate in the next few weeks to come.
Nkuli (The Masked) generally talks about the dangers and huge risks children are exposed to when there is little or no parental guidance or protection. This movie is indeed a must watch.
