In a statement issued by Golden Icons on it coming awards, Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards, it promised to detail each stage of it proceedings. Information reaching us last night has it that screening of eligible movies has just ended and in less than seven days, GIAMA will release to the world the nominees for the 2013 edition.
A panel of judges voted on all eligible motion pictures upon a thorough review and has arrived at a final decision. A reminder lists, including the casts of all eligible motion pictures, has be sent with nomination ballots to all active nominees. The top five selected achievers in each category receiving the highest number of votes will become the nominees for the final voting.
The final decision is based on the movie receiving the highest number of votes. The Board of Governors will provide for such screenings or special meetings as may be desirable to insure a full and fair consideration of the merits of all eligible achievements. This would be reviewed by a professor, graduates and students of an Art Institute (Academic) from America Film School.
From the jury perspective, movies from this year's screening were very competitive. Over 49 movies from Africa, 12 from Europe and 9 from America were submitted for screening. The jury however, is content with it selections and believe it would be appreciated by all.
