Black Entertainment Television (BET) Best International Act winner, Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu was on Saturday unveiled by electronics giant, Samsung as brand ambassador for its mobile devices.
The unveiling was done at an impressive concert, You know what time it is, at the Pentagon hostels at the University of Ghana which was attended by hundreds of music lovers including students of the university.
The mammoth concert witnessed some exciting performances not only from the man of the night Sarkodie, but also from renowned acts including R2Bees, and Dobble.
After these acts had warmed up the stage and the crowd, Sarkodie burst onto the stage with his usual unadulterated energy.
He brought his dexterity to bear on stage wowing the audience with every song he sang. Hit after hit, including, Life, Give It To Me, Pizza and Burger, Am In Love With You, You Go Kill Me, and Lay Away, Sarkodie was just on fire.
Jaspreet Sigh, Business Leader at Samsung West Africa speaking at the unveiling ceremony said, “We are very excited about this partnership because we want to connect with our customers musically and we find in Sarkodie all the values we stand for and work tirelessly to achieve.”
He noted that, the two-time Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year winner “is an optimistic believer, a relentless innovator and passionate creator and these values make up the Samsung brand.”
The one-year partnership deal, which is open to renewal after that period, will see the company's latest phones, Samsung Galaxy Pocket and Chief Hero, come with customized wallpapers, signatures, and exclusive yet to be released tracks of the Tema based rapper.
