Sherifa Gunu, one of Ghana's enterprising musicians who is making a lot of impact with her music and style of performance, is making a lot waves on the music scene with her current CD album and her music videos.
She is described by many Highlife and traditional music lovers as a crowd shaker, puller and a real performer when it comes to singing and dancing.
Sherifa Gunu, according to some of the stakeholders, would always leave an impression no matter who she comes into contact with.
She is a seasoned, spirit-filled singer who usually sweeps her audience off their feet whenever she mounts the stage to perform.
Almost all the songs on her current album, ' Kujani', are equipped with inspirational and soul-touching lyrics and good danceable beats.
Her music is basically a combination of the traditional highlife rhythms mixed with other danceable tunes, and her creativity is superb.
Born as a princess into a royal family of Dagbon in the Northern part of Ghana, Sherifa, who started her dancing and music career at a very tender age, was at one time the dance champion for the Northern region and first runner up for the 1998 National Dance Championship, then known as The Embassy Pleasure.
Sherifa is currently promoting ' Kujani ' (How are you?), her second album, with two videos, ' Mbrantie ' and ' Biigno' featuring Michael Adangba, presently showing on TV.
The album, which is currently enjoying airplay both on radio and television, is truly a good finished product for public consumption.
Opinions about the songs differ, but listening to the lyrics carefully and the kind of message she is sending to the youth, one will easily be motivated to sing along, making the songs more interesting.
Sherifa Gunu is under PN Promotions, a UK-based music label.
