
Dawurampong (C/R), Nov. 30, GNA – The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa has donated four sets of jerseys and four footballs worth GH₵1,122.40 to the Dawurampong Senior High/Technical School, at Gomoa Dawurampong in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
The items were aimed at helping the School to perform creditably in the inter-colleges football competition.
Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, District Chief Executive (DCE) who made the donation on behalf of Mr Francis Kodjo Arthur, the MP also gave a trophy valued at GH¢ 00.00 on behalf of the Assembly to the School.
Mr Aidoo-Mensah noted that sporting activities promotes good health and urged the students to engage in them.
He said football is now one of the lucrative jobs in the world today and advised the students who have the flair for it, to take it seriously to become a national star.
The DCE advised them to take their training seriously, because, “there can be no perfection without consistent training”.
Mr Fred Oscar Abban, Assistant Headmaster who received the items on behalf of the School thanked the donors, adding that the assistance came at the right time to boost the morale of the school team, preparing for the competition.
