The recent topple and subsequent forceful removal of comrade Maduro has taken the airways of all social media outlets and newspapers, and it has caused a staggering fear and made people wonder whether there is any respect for international laws. Whether international laws only apply to small countries while bigger powers flagrantly disregard them? This has led many to ponder as they seek to find concrete answers to these questions.
Before doing a cross-examination of Maduro’s case, one must firstly look at the historicity of the U. S. and Venezuela relationship. They have never been on good rapport. This can be traced from Hugo Chavez’s takeover in 1999 as president. After his takeover, he started to align with radical socialists who had different perspectives towards Latin America. He created alliances with countries like Cuba, Russia, and other ideological forces in different spheres of the world.
On this basis, there were several attempts to destabilise and evict the regime of Chavez through whatever means by the U. S. Why did they want to remove Hugo Chavez? Because he was not in their line or dancing to the tune of the U. S. The wrong thing he did was to say that he would not allow the exploitation of his country’s resources. This cost him a lot, from defamation of his character to countless sanctions on his regime.
But in the midst of all these repressions, Hugo Chavez remained dauntless and battled the odds with no fear. He championed the cause for a united Latin America and confronted the U. S. and her syndicates with bold courage and perseverance. He never accepted cowardice.
In 2013, after he shuffled off the mortal coil, Maduro succeeded him and took the oath of office as President of Venezuela. After taking over, Maduro, as a conscious and ideologically driven comrade who is grounded in the teachings of servant leadership and understands the shady deeds and plans of the devilish imperialist forces across the Western Hemisphere, instead of genuflecting and collaborating with them in their ferocious and gory intention to exploit the people of Venezuela, chose to do the contrary, that is: siding with the people’s interest and safeguarding the oil reserves of his country.
This cost him huge resentment from the so-called bulwark of good governance and human rights. Also, it led to the growing increase of unfounded and crass sanctions not based on substantive reasons, but rather based on baseless and ill-fated reasons that encompass no iota of truth and logic. However, this did not break the wings of Maduro; rather, it strengthened and invigorated his resolve to confront and battle the quagmires and strangulations that he was going through.
He maintained the vigour and mettle to purge against U. S.-sponsored reactionary elements under the guise of being opposition while undermining the state. Since the sanctions placed by the so-called bulwark of democracy were not materialising as expected, she decided to support these misguided, blindfolded, and unconscious elements whose minds had been brainwashed and blinded by this biased and pretentious bulwark of democracy and human rights.
They started to raise all kinds of accusations and unfounded assertions. Through this means, the multifaceted bulwark of democracy and human rights, which is already losing grip of her dominance and on the brink of wreckage, capitalised on these baseless assertions from these dimwits and unconscionable fellows to propagate falsehoods and dwell on trivialism to make Maduro unpopular. But unfortunately, this did not work out. What a wretched situation!
In the 2024 presidential election, Maduro was announced as the winner of the process, but yet these bitter, oafish, and misguided elements who were defeated levied grave allegations that the election was rigged without providing anything substantial to disapprove or overturn the result. This led to comrade Maduro defeating the enemy (U. S.), who is the enemy in the bigger picture and the sponsor of all these internal fights.
Logically, what do you expect from people like Maria Corina Machado, Edmundo Gonzalez, and others? These are all Western apologists with an anti-progressivism mindset against those who decide not to dine and wine with the despotic and credulous neo-colonialist self-proclaimed bulwark of democracy and human rights.
Now, let us delve into the exegesis of the intent that was behind the U. S. hawkish behaviour before the rampage in September. The neo-colonialist and wayward anti-progressivist state president started to perorate on various platforms, accusing Venezuela of being involved in drug trafficking, illegal migration to the U. S., and the smuggling of narcotics. These allegations came with no facts to prove what they were saying, and this became a concern to everyone who believes that allegations must be backed with facts instead of mere perception.
On this backdrop, the U. S. started to bomb boats coming from Venezuela in the name of a crackdown on drugs and narcotics, with no evidence. One of the intriguing things is that they were not only bombing so-called drug and narcotics boats, as they claimed, but they were also seizing oil coming from Venezuela and taking ownership of it. This was not hidden. There are pictorial and video evidence that can be traced and found.
This exposed the underlying motive: it was not to combat drugs, immigration, and narcotics, but rather to get hold of Venezuela’s oil reserves and oust the leadership of comrade Maduro. This exhibition was deliberate. It exposes the hypocrisy of the U. S., that her scope of operation is totally different from what she says.
Fast forward to January 3 in the morning, we witnessed large-scale strikes and explosions in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, by the pretentious bulwark of democracy and human rights across the globe. To our dismay, we heard that our compatriot Nicolas Maduro was captured alongside his wife and flown out of the country. This was heartbreaking and frustrating for men who believe in the fight against neo-colonialism and imperialism.
The capture of Maduro validates what I was talking about regarding this self-proclaimed bulwark of democracy and human rights, which continues to perpetuate mayhem against those who refuse to bow down to her command. She is careless about human decency and existence when one conducts a thorough examination of her role played in history.
This attack violated the UN Charter Article 2 and other international laws that safeguard the peace and stability of the world. The aggression against a sovereign state and head of state also validates that this was a calculated plan to get Maduro ousted and replace him with their puppet and take total control of Venezuela’s oil economy.
The evidence to this claim is Trump’s recent appearance addressing the Maduro issue. He asserted that they would take full control of Venezuela, meaning its leadership, economy, and so forth. To some extent, he said that the U. S. was the one that built Venezuela’s oil industry, that there were big U. S. companies that hugely invested in Venezuela’s oil economy, but later, after the socialist regime took over, these assets were seized.
Yet, there are no facts to authenticate and prove these claims. But anyway, that is Trump for you. He makes all kinds of vague and unfounded claims either to impress his followers or himself. This further serves as a strong validation of what I said.
In some ways, this is not startling to those who know the track record of the U. S. in global politics. Countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Vietnam, and others are a testament to her infamous record when it comes to aggression. The funny thing is that she beats her chest as the sole defender of democracy and human rights, but then she goes against these very principles she claims to defend.
It is proven in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and now Venezuela is the recent victim of her aggression. In the strongest terms, as a student who believes in the radical transformation of the state for the general good of all, not the elites or bourgeoisie only, I want to condemn and denounce the actions of the U. S. as totally wrong.
No decent human being who believes in human dignity and sovereignty will support such depictions of neo-colonialistic and imperialistic behaviour exhibited. It jeopardises the future of Venezuela. Let the U. S. respect international laws and the sovereignty of other nations, as she normally rages at her counterparts for breaching international laws and the sovereignty of other countries. The same rules must be applied to everyone, irrespective of socio-economic status.
