Hearts Of Oak Head Coach - Kim Grant

Accra Hearts of Oak first team coach, Kim Grant has disclosed that his target is to win the upcoming Special Competition being organized by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC).

The upcoming competition is expected to keep the 16 Premier League Clubs as well as the 48 Division 1 League clubs active in the absence of the normal league competitions.

The competition will give one of the Premier League clubs the opportunity to participate in the next edition of the CAF Champions League. It will however not come easy as the team will have to win the competition to get that slot.

Speaking on Atinka TV on Thursday, January 17, Kim Grant expressed that he wishes to win the competition and his side is going to fight for the ultimate prize.

“There is a new tournament coming up next month. I definitely want to win it”, the former Black Stars striker said.

He continued “I didn't come to this club just to be part of the competition. This is Hearts of Oak. Our target is to win the Special Competition”.

Despite refusing to make any assurances, he stressed that his side will go all out to try and win the competition. Meanwhile the Phobians have been playing a number of friendly matches to get their team in shape and ready for the new competition. They will be playing the Ghana u20 team tomorrow before travelling to Daboase on Sunday to engage them in another friendly.

The NC’s special competition will start on February 3, 2019.
