Accra Hearts of Oak continued their winning form earlier this morning by beating Tudu Mighty Jets 3-0 in a low profile friendly match at the Pobiman Park.
This is their second win in five days following their narrow win over Future Soccer Academy last Sunday at the same venue. The Accra based side looks to be experimenting their team to ensure they improve the side as they prepare for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Novelty competition which is expected to start later this month.
Coach Kim grant is bent on building a formidable side which will be a pain in the neck for opponents and has assured fans that their home grounds will be a fortress when everything is set.
In the run to overseeing that dream, the Phobians have been testing the strength of their team by engaging in friendly matches to help the coach sharpen any rough edge.
Despite dropping key players like Benjamin Mensah, Richmond Ayi, William Dankyi, Christopher Bonney, Malik Akowuah, Benjamin Agyare, Fatawu Mohammed and striker Selasi Bakai to the bench today, the Rainbow boys still managed to get the victory over their opponents.
Even though Hearts were the better side throughout the 90 minutes, it took substitutes Selasi Bakai, Obeng Jnr and Abubakar Troare to climb from the bench to get the goals for Hearts of Oak. Bakai scored from a header after connecting to a perfectly struck corner kick by Alidu Namhan in the first half. Obeng Jnr scored the second goal by finishing off a smart move by fellow substitute Manaf Umar. Abubakar Troare added to the scoring on the 90th minute by tapping home from close range.
It is likely the Rainbow boys will be engage in another friendly match this coming Sunday.
