CAF Applauds Ghana Over Successful AWCON Organization

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has congratulated Ghana on the successful organisation of the just ended 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations (AWCON).

Ghana's dream of hosting and winning the ultimate was left in the dark after the exited the competition at the group stages after picking four points from a possible nine to finish 3rd behind Cameroon and Mali respectively.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have emerged the champions of African football once again after they managed to beat South Africa 4-3 on penalties, following a goalless in 120 minutes of play.

The continent's football governing body, CAF expressed their gratitude to Ghana for hosting a successful tournament in a letter dated December 7, 2018.
