Ghanaian youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi was one of the breakout stars of Chelsea's preseason, featuring regularly in the friendlies and earning himself a first-team spot at the tender age of just 17.
And while his involvement was expected to drop a bit once the season proper began and the all the big names returned from their post-World Cup holidays, Hudson-Odoi has not been seen since the Community Shield against Manchester City a month ago, and had to even drop down to the Development Squad for a week to keep up his match fitness.
However, Chelsea have only played four games since, have not had any significant injuries (and certainly not at winger), and as exciting at Hudson-Odoi's prospect may be, he's not going to be ahead of Hazard, Pedro, Willian, and Moses at the moment. Fortunately, the schedule is going to get twice as busy after the international break, with twice weekly matches and various competitions on tap starting in two weeks. And Sarri has not forgotten about the kid.
'Pedro has played the first three games, I started him, but on Saturday I thought it was better to play at the beginning with Willian but at the end I think I am lucky because if a coach can choose either Pedro or Willian he is a lucky coach.
'Pedro is a great player and it is normal for him to score but I am really very lucky because Hazard, Pedro, Moses and Willian in the same position, that's very lucky and I don't want to forget Hudson-Odoi,' Sarri said.
Seven matches in three weeks await the Blues after the international break, in the Premier League, the Europa League, and the League Cup. Surely, plenty of chances for Hudson-Odoi to truly ensure that no one forgets about him anytime soon.
