
Bolga All Stars made history by becoming the first ever team from the Upper East Region to qualify to the Ghana Premier League.
The team based in capital of the Bolgatanga Municipal District secured the last Premier league ticket available for Divison One Clubs by qualifying to the topflight from Zone One at the expense of fierce competitors Mighty Royals on Sunday.
Bolga led the pack with two points above Mighty Royals ahead of the final round of games but were at the disadvantage on the head to head record.
Hence, needed a victory to book their place in next season’s league and they did won 2-1 against Tamale Utrecht thanks to goals from top scorer Noah Nii Quaye and Tanko Hamid.
Noah Nii Quaye finished the 2015/2016 season as top scorer of the GN Bank Division One League Zone One with twenty goals.
