Abdul Wahid Omar was a disappointed athlete and it showed on his face during his post-fight interview at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
The Ghanaian boxer took on Argentine Aberto Ezequiel Melian in the men's bantam 56kg boxing on Thursday night.
Abdul Wahid Omar lost the fight 29-28, 29-28, 29-28 but feels he was cheated. Despite acknowledging Aberto Ezequiel Melian was a good boxer, the Ghanaian says he won the fight but there's nothing he can do after the judges' verdict.
'I fought with a good boxer. In Argentina, he is a good boxer and in the world ranking.
'I fought him and after three rounds they give the win to him. I thought I won the fight but it's the decision of the judges.
'I think I did my best. I worked very hard. I know I won it. Even the crowd and the supporters know that I won the fight.
'But I don't know. I just give thanks to almighty Allah.'
Abdul Wahid Omar is the fourth Ghanaian athlete out of the representing 16 to go out of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
