Sunyani, Sept. 28, GNA - Twelve Brong-Ahafo Second Division Football Clubs will engage in a straight knock-out competition at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Tuesday, September 29.
Mr. Kwabena Munufie, Secretary of the Regional Football Association (RFA), disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
Mr. Munufie said each of the 12 clubs emerged victorious in their groups during the just-ended three-day all-play-all middle-league contest played at the same venue from September 21 to 23.
The clubs are Dormaa Kyenkyenkye F/C, Sampa United, Sunyani Suncity F/C, Nsoatreman F/C, A.K. Shion at Chiraa, Sunyani Liberty F/C, Nkoranza Republicans, Kintampo Youngsters F/C, Yeji Axio, Wamanafo Mighty Royals, Japekrom Jam F/C and Buipe Riophel F/C.
Mr. Munufie said the overall winner would be promoted to the Regional First Division, to play along crack teams like Tano Bofoakwa and just-relegated premier side, B.A. United, in the 2015/2016 National First Division League Competition.
He cautioned Managements of the qualified teams that the RFA would not hesitate to enforce the bye-laws governing competitive football to ensure a successful competition.
'The Regional Football Association reserves the right to expel any club whose supporters, players and officials misconduct themselves during the competition,' Mr. Munufie stressed.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kwame Yeboah, a Sunyani-based sports enthusiast has appealed to the Management of the RFA to ensure adequate security for the up-coming knock-out matches.
Speaking to the GNA, Mr. Yeboah cited a nasty scene at the Coronation Park during a middle-league match between Sunyani Aston Villas and Union Rovers of Goaso on Tuesday September 22, during which some supporters of Aston Villas assaulted the coach of Union Rovers.
Mr. Yeboah blamed the incident on the fact that the match was played with no single security personnel available to maintain law and order, and therefore pleaded with the RFA to ensure that such a big mistake was not repeated.
