National Teams Ambassador Asamoah Gyan paid a motivational visit to the Black Queens during their training session on Wednesday, offering encouragement as the team intensifies preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The former Black Stars captain and all-time leading scorer took time to congratulate both players and the technical staff for securing qualification to the continental tournament.
He urged the squad to stay focused, maintain discipline, and continue working hard as they aim to make an impact on the continental stage.
Gyan’s visit marks one of his first official engagements since being appointed Ambassador for Ghana’s national teams, a role expected to see him closely involved in supporting and motivating the various national sides.
During the interaction, he also assured the Black Queens of his continued support as they build up towards WAFCON 2026.
His presence was warmly welcomed by the players and coaching staff, with the former striker sharing personal experiences from his playing career to inspire the group.
The Black Queens are currently in camp in Accra under head coach Kim Lars Björkegren as preparations continue for the upcoming tournament.
