The Black Satellites finished the group stage as top of Group B with seven points after defeating Panama in their final group game.
Substitute Emmanuel Boateng, scored the only goal of the game after controlling a long pass, ran past a defender of Panama before placing a cool shot past the goalkeeper.
The Panamanians missed a chance to find a equalizer after Fidel Escobar missed a penalty later in the game.
In the other group game, Austria managed to hold on pre- tournament favourites Argentina to a 0-0 draw in the matchwhich was played simultaneously on Friday.
The result means Ghana finished top of the group with seven points, Austria takes the second spot with five points while Argentina managed only two points which leaves them almost out of the competition.
