Anas was on the score-sheet during their last 4-1 victory over SuperSport United, netting his second goal for the club this season. The result took the PMB side up to third spot on the Absa Premiership table, with the joint best goal-scoring record in the league to date.Komphela is optimistic that the 19-year-old from Kumasi could be a regular goal-getter for the Team of Choice. "Anas is a prolific goal scorer, he had done very well in Swaziland and the he was recommended to come through [to Maritzburg]," Komphela said"We had a look at him, we had been screening a lot of strikers and the departure of Yakubu Mohammed and Orlando Smeekes created the void, so we had to fill the gap and we looked at Anas.”The Maritzburg head coach points out however that the young striker can still improve on several areas of his play."We saw a guy who has strength, he can hold the ball, play with the defender at his back, got a relative amount of technique to survive in any situation, he is a fighter," Komphela explained."There is still a certain amount of values we are trying to install into him. An element of hunger, humility, selflessness. We know strikers are selfish so we say yes be selfish, but play with others, it seems to be working."
