Ghana Black Stars undertook their worst FIFA World Cup tournament in three after claiming just a single point in their group and failing for the first time to qualify from their group in Brazil.
The drama that has engulfed the Black Stars' stay in Brazil and the aftermath stories is as disgraceful as the real failure in the tournament could have ever unraveled.
Captain of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan has issued an apology on behalf of him and his team-mates for their appalling display at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The Al Ain player said:
'We went to a tournament to make the nation proud but things didn't happen. All I have to say is sorry to all Ghanaians for our performance.'
