Firefighters from the Konongo Odumasi Fire Station have rescued a trapped victim following a collision between an STC passenger bus and a Kia Picanto taxi at Konongo Akrantiebesa, near the Next Bon Gas Filling Station, on Thursday night, June 4, 2026.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), both vehicles sustained extensive damage, with the taxi’s engine compartment completely destroyed as a result of the impact.
Three injured occupants were initially rescued by bystanders and rushed to the Steward Hospital before the arrival of the fire service crew.
The fire officers later extricated a fourth victim who had been trapped inside the taxi and ensured he was taken to the Asante Akyem Central Hospital for further treatment.
In total, four people sustained injuries in the crash. No fatalities were recorded. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
