Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris scored all two goals for Valenciennes when they drew 2-2 with Sochaux in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday night.
The Spartak Moscow loanee who is carrying the relegation-threatened side on his shoulders elected himself to brilliantly finish from the spot in the 51st minute before restoring his side's lead 4 minutes from time but Sochaux equalised just the end.
Valenciennes failed to find the back of the net in the first-half despite creating avalanche of scoring chances and it too the Ghana international to create and score the first goal of the game at the Stade du Hainaut.
The swift attacker won a penalty and clinically converted to put Valenciennes ahead in the game but the visitors equalised three minutes later.
As the tie wore on and nearing its end, the gilded goal-machine claimed his second of the night, expertly volleying past the keeper to restore his side's lead but sat back for Sochaux to level the scoring to keep them still in the drop-zone.
Waris has taken his season's tally in the Ligue 1 to four goals in 7 league games.
