The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has outlined a number of digital learning interventions being implemented to improve access to quality education, particularly for students in underserved communities.
According to him, the Ministry of Education is expanding digital learning opportunities through the Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS) as part of efforts to bridge the digital divide across the country.
The Minister made the disclosure while answering questions on the floor of Parliament on Thursday, June 18.
According to a social media post by Parliament's official account, the Minister said the interventions include the deployment of the iBox platform, interactive educational technology tools and offline learning solutions for schools without internet connectivity.
The Tamale South MP noted that the iBox system is currently benefiting more than 120,000 students in 240 senior high schools nationwide.
He explained that the initiative is designed to enhance access to educational content, improve digital literacy and support effective teaching and learning.
The Education Minister further indicated that additional programmes are being rolled out to assist students preparing for national examinations while strengthening the use of technology in classrooms.
According to him, the interventions form part of government's broader strategy to ensure equitable access to education regardless of geographical location.
