Head coach of the National Senior Women's team of Ghana, Yusif Basigi is confident his team will get a positive result against Burkina Faso in the 2014 Africa Women's Championship qualifier.
The Black Queens departed for Ouagadougou for the first-leg tie of the first round a couple of days ago after camping in Tamale ahead of the big encounter on Saturday.
Ghana, for the first time failed to qualify for the African Women's Championship in 2012 since the tournament started in 1998.
But coach Basigi is determined to get his side to understand the enormity of the assignment that awaits them in Burkina Faso.
“I have spoken to the girls; I have throne the challenge to them just as you are asking me and they have also agree with me and have taken up the challenge.
Both the technical team and the players acknowledged that there is the need for us to do all that we can to achieve our goal,” he stated.
Basigi, who led Hasaacas to the maiden edition of the national women's league in 2013, said he's not entirely enthused about the little or lack of knowledge he has about Ghana's opponents.
“That notwithstanding, at the end of ninety minutes, our ultimate goal is to win the game so that the return encounter in Ghana will be a mere formality,” Coach Basigi noted.
Ghana will host the return fixture on February 28 to March 2, 2014.
