The Ghana Football Association has announced that the derby between the Tema-based duo of Amidaus Professionals and Inter Allies, which was originally scheduled for Saturday February 15, has been rescheduled to Friday February 14 to make way for the unveiling of the league's new title sponsors First Capital Plus Bank.

The bank signed a $10 million deal with the GFA last Tuesday to be awarded the title sponsorship of Ghana's top flight, after the FA's relationship with telecommunications giants GLO went sour over unpaid monies in the lead up to the end of the contract last season.

The league, which traveled the whole of the first round without sponsorship, will welcome this piece of news with relief as First Capital Plus bank has already paid a first tranche of $500,000.

The GFA says that the official unveiling ceremony of the title sponsors at the Tema Sports Stadium will precede kickoff, and will be accompanied by some entertainment activities.

First Capital Plus, a Ghanaian owned bank, were awarded a universal banking license late last year to become Ghana's 27th bank after close to our years as a savings a loans company.

They join SuperSport as sponsors of the league, after the South African sports broadcaster signed a deal of undisclosed fee to become the title broadcast partners of the Ghana Premier League late last year, taking over from Optimum Media Prime (OMP, operators of Metro TV).
