Asante Kotoko have received GHS 60,000 (a little over $20,000) from one of their sponsors Interplast as reward for winning the Premier League.
The paid amount is in fulfillment of a pledged etched in their running sponsorship agreement between the two sides.
Kotoko receives GHS 100,000 (about $48,367) in annual cash as part of the sponsorship package from Interplast.
The club is however yet to receive an unspecified amount from the Ghana FA's Premier League Board as prize money for retaining the title they won last term.
“Yes I can confirm to you that we have received GHS 60,000 from Interplast for winning the Premier League,” the club's spoksman Dr. Ernest Opoku told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“The Premier League remains silent on any other rewards apart from the trophy to be given to Kotoko.”
Kotoko missed out on winning the double after losing 1-0 to Medeama in the finals of the MTN FA Cup.
They will however return to represent Ghana in next season's CAF Champions League.
